Lansing School District Calendar 2026-2027

In Lansing, program choice begins before high school and continues through several distinct secondary settings. Eastern, Everett, and Sexton are the established comprehensive high schools, but each carries a different academic and career emphasis: Eastern combines International Baccalaureate and health-related study, Everett connects New Tech with visual and performing arts, and Sexton emphasizes engineering, advanced manufacturing, insurance, and finance.

The magnet network adds another layer across earlier grades. Spanish and Chinese immersion, Montessori, environmental science, biotechnology, arts, and IB models allow students to pursue a defined instructional approach outside the ordinary neighborhood route. Entry depends on applications, available space, and continuity rules.

Lansing Technical High School provides a grades 9–12 setting centered on technical preparation, industry credentials, and college credit. Capital Area K–12 Online serves students through a district-run virtual school, while the Lansing Learning Hub and Adult Education support re-engagement, diploma completion, and skill development.

A Lansing student’s path may be shaped by address, application, separate enrollment, or adult-program eligibility. Understanding which rule applies is more useful than treating every named program as the same kind of school choice.
