Flushing Community Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Flushing Community Schools uses an extended elementary span that delays the districtwide secondary transition. Early Childhood Programs serve preschool and kindergarten, while Central, Elms, Seymour, and Springview continue through grade 6. Students then spend grades 7–8 at Flushing Middle School before entering Flushing High School. This creates fewer school-level transitions than the common K–5, 6–8 pattern.

The high-school years contain two important extensions. Raider Early College is a five-year plan that joins a Flushing diploma with substantial college progress; depending on the pathway, students may work toward an associate degree, a Michigan Early Middle College Association credential, career certification, or as many as sixty college credits. The extra year changes both the timetable and the institution providing part of the coursework.

Raider Virtual offers online high-school study for students who need a different pace or setting. Early College asks for a longer, college-connected commitment instead. Flushing is therefore linear through grade 8, with its major pathway decisions arriving when students begin planning how to complete high school.
