Berkley School District Calendar 2026-2027

Berkley School District serves Berkley, Huntington Woods, and part of Oak Park through address-based school patterns that create two different middle-grade experiences. Depending on attendance area, students may move from one of four elementary schools to Anderson Middle School, or attend Norup International School, a K–8 International Baccalaureate setting that keeps elementary and middle grades on one campus. Both local routes ultimately lead to Berkley High School.

The difference between Anderson and Norup is more than a change of building. Anderson creates the conventional elementary-to-middle-school transition, while Norup provides longer campus continuity and an IB framework across a wider grade span. Access is not simply an open choice between the two. District residents begin with their assigned attendance area; internal transfers depend on capacity and are not guaranteed, while Schools of Choice uses limited openings and an application process.

At the high-school level, Berkley students can reach beyond the district’s own course catalog. Regional partnerships provide access to the International Academy, Oakland Schools Technical Campuses, and the Center for Advanced Studies and the Arts. Those programs expand advanced academics, arts study, and career preparation while Berkley High remains the student’s home base. Berkley’s defining pattern is a compact local system whose address-based routes connect to a much larger Oakland County opportunity network.
