Chippewa Valley Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Chippewa Valley Schools manages its size through two main comprehensive high-school systems. Twelve elementary schools lead into four middle schools, and students then enter either the Chippewa Valley or Dakota high-school community. Each has a dedicated ninth-grade center, giving freshmen a smaller transition setting before they join the broader upper-grade campus.

The district’s high-school portfolio extends beyond those two transition centers. Mohegan High School provides an alternative environment with different hours, methods, rules, and atmosphere, using smaller classes and more individualized instruction to help students earn a diploma. The International Academy of Macomb is a countywide International Baccalaureate magnet school offering the Middle Years and Diploma programmes; students enter through its own selective admissions process, separate from neighborhood assignment.

Career and technical education also crosses the boundary between the two comprehensive schools. Programs are housed at both Chippewa Valley High and Dakota High, and the district states that a course taught at only one campus remains available to students from the other. A student’s attendance area therefore establishes the main high-school home, but it does not necessarily determine every technical opportunity.
