Anchor Bay School District Calendar 2026-2027

Anchor Bay School District is a growing system organized around a clear sequence of elementary, intermediate, middle, and high-school stages. Its current secondary configuration places students in grades 5–6 at Middle School North and grades 7–8 at Middle School South. That split gives fifth- and sixth-graders a gentler transition out of elementary school, while older middle-school students enter a setting designed for greater independence and a broader elective program.

The grade configuration also changes how districtwide opportunities are delivered. Students begin to encounter more specialized teachers, music, athletics, swimming, and exploratory courses before reaching Anchor Bay High School. By separating the two middle-grade bands, the district can shape programs around distinct stages of early adolescence instead of applying one design across grades 5 through 8.

Career preparation is woven through the district’s academic planning. Anchor Bay organizes learning around broad career pathways that connect engineering and manufacturing, health and human services, arts and communication, and business and technology. At the high-school level, career and technical courses can lead to articulated college credit, industry credentials, or clearer postsecondary direction. Families therefore encounter a district with two strong organizing ideas: carefully staged transitions between grade bands and an effort to connect schoolwork with the many ways students may continue after graduation.
