About Midland Public Schools
Midland Public Schools serves the city through two main secondary communities. Jefferson and Northeast middle schools lead toward Midland High School and H. H. Dow High School, allowing the district to maintain more than one local route while sharing broad expectations for academics, arts, athletics, career preparation, and student support.
Personalized Academics Through High School, or PATHS, gives some students a different way to organize high-school study. The program can combine face-to-face instruction, virtual coursework, and work-based experience in a flexible plan designed around individual progress and graduation needs rather than the full daily timetable of one comprehensive high school.
MPS eLearning adds individual online courses for students facing schedule conflicts or seeking classes not available in their regular timetable. It supplements the existing schedule course by course, while PATHS can reshape a student's broader high-school plan.
Midland's established structure is therefore two comprehensive high-school communities with two distinct forms of flexibility around them. Families considering PATHS are choosing a personalized completion plan; students using eLearning may remain fully embedded in their ordinary campus schedule.
