Lakeview School District Calendar 2026-2027

Lakeview School District in the Battle Creek area begins with four PreK–4 elementary schools: Minges Brook, Prairieview, Riverside, and Westlake. All students then enter Lakeview Middle School for grades 5–8. The middle school is organized internally as a grades 5–6 academy and a grades 7–8 academy, allowing one campus to support two developmental stages before students move to Lakeview High School.

The unified middle school is the district’s most distinctive structural feature. Students from four elementary communities meet in grade 5, yet younger and older middle-grade students can use different teams, expectations, and transition supports inside the same institution. By high school, the district already functions as one common cohort drawn from the former elementary feeder lines.

Lakeview Alternative High School provides a different completion environment for students who need flexibility. The program combines online coursework with mentor and graduation-coach support and regular in-person attendance on a limited weekly schedule. It changes pace and daily organization while maintaining a direct connection to Lakeview educators and diploma requirements.

This Battle Creek-area district has a straightforward physical sequence—PreK–4 elementary, one 5–8 middle school, and one comprehensive high school—with an alternative route that blends online and in-person support. It is distinct from Lakeview Public Schools in St. Clair Shores, despite the similar name.
