Forest Hills Public Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Forest Hills Public Schools is organized around three attendance-area communities—Central, Eastern, and Northern—each with its own high school. Their middle-grade patterns are not identical. Central Woodlands and Northern Trails serve grades 5–6 before Central Middle and Northern Hills serve grades 7–8, while Eastern Middle School begins at grade 6 and continues through grade 8. Families therefore cannot apply one districtwide elementary-to-middle sequence to all three areas.

Goodwillie Environmental School adds another fifth- and sixth-grade route. It is a districtwide magnet built around environmental learning, and students return afterward to the middle school connected with their ordinary attendance area. Language-immersion programs and the high-school STEM Academy can also carry students across the boundaries that organize the conventional community pathways.

Flex Academy serves enrolled high-school students who are referred for a nontraditional and individualized setting. The Transition Center addresses a later stage, helping young adults with developmental disabilities build daily-living, employment, community-participation, and continuing-education skills. Neither operates as a fourth comprehensive high school.

Forest Hills combines three stable community systems with a smaller set of districtwide branches. A home address remains central to the ordinary route, but environmental education, language immersion, STEM, flexible secondary study, and transition services follow their own purposes and entry rules.
