West Ottawa Public Schools combines a large neighborhood network with several long-term instructional routes. Nine elementary schools lead to two middle-school communities and a unified West Ottawa High School program, while specialty options can begin in the earliest grades and continue across later transitions.
Los Lagos Spanish Immersion develops bilingual learning through a districtwide sequence rather than a short enrichment course. Montessori provides another elementary model. Families entering either route must consider continuation, transportation, and placement rules across more than one building.
At the high-school level, International Baccalaureate and Early College provide different forms of advanced study. Dunes Alternative High School offers a smaller completion environment. West Ottawa Virtual Academy serves grades 6–12 through online learning and can also support homeschool or private-school partnerships while keeping students connected to district teachers and activities.
A West Ottawa student may remain on a neighborhood route, begin in immersion or Montessori, pursue IB or Early College later, or use Dunes or WOVA when a different setting is needed. Each path has its own continuity and enrollment rules.
