About Van Buren Public Schools
Van Buren Public Schools brings four elementary communities together in stages. Students first meet at Owen Intermediate School, move to McBride Middle School, and then enter Belleville High School. Owen softens the first districtwide transition, while McBride prepares the same growing cohort for a single comprehensive high school.
Within Belleville High, Belleville New Tech creates a school-within-a-school experience based on projects, collaboration, and real-world problem solving. Students retain their Belleville High identity while following a different instructional framework.
Other plans can reshape where part of the day occurs. Belleville Online School changes delivery; dual enrollment and early college connect students with college coursework; and regional access to the William D. Ford Career-Technical Center opens specialized technical training beyond the district campus.
The district’s ordinary path is linear, but the high-school experience is not uniform. A student may remain fully within the comprehensive program or combine the home school with New Tech, online, college, or regional technical learning.
