About South Lyon Community Schools
South Lyon Community Schools covers a broad and growing area across parts of three counties. Eight elementary schools feed two middle-school communities, and students later enter South Lyon High School or South Lyon East High School. The two secondary routes preserve local identity while sharing districtwide expectations for academics, arts, athletics, and student support.
The district expands high-school choice mainly through regional partnerships rather than a large internal portfolio of magnet schools. Students may use Oakland Schools Technical Campuses, early-college or accelerated-college arrangements, dual enrollment, and other shared programs that place part of the school day at a technical center or college campus.
South Lyon is therefore best understood through geography and outward connection. Address establishes the ordinary middle-and-high-school community; later planning determines how much regional career or college study a student adds without giving up the home high school.
