About Saline Area Schools
Saline Area Schools brings students together through a sequence of narrow grade bands. Young-fives-through-grade-3 elementary schools lead to Heritage School for grades 4–5, Saline Middle School for grades 6–8, and Saline High School. The separate upper-elementary campus gives the district a defined bridge between neighborhood classrooms and the larger middle-school environment.
Liberty High School serves students who need a smaller or more individualized way to complete high school. Liberty FLEX extends that setting into fully virtual study, with coordinator support and access to an in-person support room when needed. The two options share a completion mission but do not require the same daily arrangement.
Saline also hosts the South & West Washtenaw Consortium. Through SWWC, eleventh- and twelfth-grade students from Saline and neighboring districts can use state-approved career and technical programs while remaining members of their home schools.
Saline's structure is defined by carefully staged age transitions and outward-facing high-school choices. Heritage prepares students for a common middle-school experience; Liberty and SWWC then provide different forms of flexibility during the diploma years.
