Monroe Public Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Monroe Public Schools has one principal districtwide secondary route. Neighborhood elementary schools feed Monroe Middle School and then Monroe High School, concentrating the broadest academic, career, arts, athletic, and extracurricular opportunities in one comprehensive high school.

Orchard Center High School creates a more intimate completion setting for students whose pace, support needs, or daily organization do not fit the comprehensive timetable. Students work toward a Monroe diploma under the same broader district curriculum, but the setting is designed around a more individualized route to completion.

Monroe Virtual High School adds online study for students in grades 7–12, while Direct College connects Monroe High students with college coursework through Monroe County Community College. Virtual learning changes the place and pace of instruction; Direct College keeps the comprehensive high school as the home base while part of the student's work becomes college-level. The district's secondary portfolio can be read as one common campus route with two different extensions: Orchard changes the in-person environment, Monroe Virtual changes delivery, and Direct College expands the academic provider. Each follows separate eligibility and scheduling rules.
