Jenison Public Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Jenison Public Schools presents families with a meaningful choice at the very beginning of the K–12 experience. In addition to neighborhood elementary schools and transitional-kindergarten options, El Puente offers Spanish immersion, Wilderness Academy provides a nature-based elementary environment, and Jenison Innovation Academy supplies flexible and technology-supported learning. The first major decision can involve an instructional model as much as an address.

El Puente builds Spanish and English literacy through a long-term immersion sequence. Wilderness Academy organizes a smaller cohort around outdoor, place-based, and project-centered learning. Both create distinctive elementary experiences that differ from a standard neighborhood classroom, and families must consider program continuity, transportation, and entry procedures before assuming a route will remain available across grades.

Jenison Innovation Academy operates across elementary, middle, and high-school levels and also supports part-time homeschool participation and broader online services. Its several formats change the location, schedule, and proportion of independent learning. Students in the conventional system later enter Jenison Junior High and Jenison High, while Innovation Academy students may use a different progression.

Jenison offers several starting points and more than one way to remain connected through adolescence. Neighborhood, Spanish-immersion, nature-based, and innovation routes each create a different daily experience, even though students share the same larger public-school system and community resources.
