Howell Public Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Howell Public Schools serves six elementary communities that later divide between Highlander Way Middle School and Parker Middle School before converging at Howell High School. The two middle schools preserve smaller communities for grades 6–8, while the single high school concentrates the district’s broad academic, career, arts, athletic, and extracurricular program.

Howell Innovation Academy provides a smaller project-based high-school environment for students whose learning is better supported by interdisciplinary work, flexible pacing, and close adult guidance. It is a separate high-school setting, not simply an elective track inside Howell High. A Spanish dual-language program at Three Fires Elementary creates another specialty route much earlier in the grade span.

Highlander Virtual serves a wide range of ages through two formats. Students in grades 6–12 can follow scheduled live instruction in the synchronous model, while the asynchronous model extends from begindergarten through grade 12 and allows more independent pacing. Both remain connected to Howell educators and district expectations.

The district combines a two-middle-to-one-high physical sequence with a project-based alternative high school, an elementary language route, and two virtual formats. Families need to separate campus assignment from program application and determine how much live scheduling, independent study, or specialized instruction a student needs.
