Farmington Public Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Farmington Public Schools serves several Oakland County communities through a broad neighborhood network and more than one kind of secondary setting. Nine elementary schools feed three middle schools, and most students then enter either Farmington High School or North Farmington High School. Farmington Central High School provides a smaller alternative environment, so the district’s high-school structure cannot be reduced to two attendance-area campuses alone.

Specialized routes begin before high school. Farmington STEAM Academy is a K–8 program built around science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics, creating a continuous specialty setting across the elementary and middle grades. At Farmington High, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme gives older students a distinct two-year academic framework inside a comprehensive high school. These programs sit alongside the ordinary address-based sequence and follow their own placement or participation rules.

Other branches change the delivery format or the goal of the program. Farmington Online supports virtual study, while Visions Unlimited serves eligible young adults with transition planning, employment preparation, independent-living instruction, and community-based experiences. Visions is part of the district’s postsecondary transition system; it is not another diploma-focused high school.

The result is a district with several layers: neighborhood assignment, two comprehensive high-school communities, a smaller alternative high school, a K–8 STEAM route, IB study, online learning, and transition services beyond the conventional K–12 sequence. The practical task is to identify which layer is address-based and which requires a separate program decision or eligibility review.
