Romeo Community Schools Calendar 2026-2027

Romeo Community Schools uses one of the clearest staged secondary sequences in the region. Five K–5 elementary schools feed Romeo Middle School for grades 6–8, students spend grade 9 at the Ninth Grade Academy, and Romeo High School serves grades 10–12.

The Ninth Grade Academy is more than a separate address. It gives freshmen a dedicated transition year before they enter an upper-grade high school, allowing the district to concentrate academic habits, relationships, course planning, and early career exploration within one age group.

At Romeo High, the Academies of Romeo organize later study around career and postsecondary themes. Romeo Virtual Academy provides another route for grades 6–12, combining independent online coursework with mentor support and an on-site learning lab at the Ninth Grade Academy. Virtual students work toward a Romeo diploma under separate enrollment rules.

Romeo's structure moves students through increasingly specialized stages: neighborhood elementary school, a shared middle school, a universal freshman academy, and an upper high school. Career academies and virtual learning then allow students to vary the content or delivery of that common route.
