Gibraltar School District Calendar 2026-2027

Gibraltar School District serves several Downriver communities through neighborhood elementary schools that come together at Shumate Middle School and Carlson High School. Rockwood Early Learning Center extends the district below kindergarten, while the common middle and high schools create a shared secondary identity across communities that retain distinct elementary campuses.

Downriver STEM at Weiss adds a specialized K–5 route. Its project-centered science, technology, engineering, and mathematics model changes the elementary experience without creating a separate secondary system; students later enter the wider district pathway. Families considering the program need to distinguish its instructional model and enrollment procedures from ordinary elementary assignment.

Lakeshore Virtual School provides another kind of branch across K–12. Students may use a full-time virtual format, a part-time homeschool partnership, or co-enrollment that combines online and district-supported experiences.
